This is what I say all the time, "You already know the answer if you don't at least try."
I say it to my friends and family and most often to myself. It's easy to be scared to take a risk because of those pesky "thought demons" that talk too much!
This INSPIRATION TUESDAY I'm going to discuss my Wonderland Series that was published in Somerset Studio as the "With One Palette" in July, 2014. While searching online I came across a blogger, Fiona Spain from Tales from the Craft Room, that had posted about me and her creative inspiration was my Wonderland Parade! It was such a fun surprise. In the blog post Fiona showed her creative process for recreating her own Wonderland Parade.
The inspiration behind this series was I set a Goal for myself to try to get published as the "With One Palette" artist. One of my favorite things to do is head to Barnes & Noble with my hubby and I grab all of the Stampington magazines I can find. I browse and sometimes purchase, but I had always been intrigued by this particular feature.
I have had some requests to create "Alice" and I really love to work with children's classics and in series. So the decision to do the Wonderland Series was pretty easy. Creating 6 pieces (my "Mad Here" piece will be published in Somerset Studio Gallery, Winter 2014) with using only Peony Pink, Moon Yellow, Turquoise and White was quite a bit trickier than I had anticipated, but I did love the challenge! I am currently working on another possible submission to the With one Palette feature... if I get in, I'll be sure to post photos.
So thank you to Fiona Spain for blogging about her inspiration and Happy Creating! ~Alicia♥
