To say "I love you" one must first be able to say the word "I". ~Ayn Rand
LOVE is the topic of so many conversations; how to Find it, how to Get it, how to Keep it....
I believe before you can fall in love with someone for the long term, you really do need to love yourself first. I think you need to be a "whole" person before you can get married or in a serious relationship. This way you are bringing something to the table and not expecting the other person to make you complete. BOTH individuals are making a bigger and better ONE.

These 2 originals on a HUGE sale in my etsy shop to celebrate Valentine's Day! Have a happy day ~Alicia
Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive that is you-er than YOU! ~Dr. Seuss
I absolutely LOVE this Dr. Seuss quote! This is the idea & feeling behind much of the art I create. The photo above is titled "FearLess."
To me, creating art is all about being brave. You need to be brave to stand up to your inner critic and move forward past any self doubt that's been piling up inside of you. Artists often reveal a part of their soul or something emotional they are going through now or in the past. Even more brave is when you take the leap and share your art with the world. It's scary & exciting all at the same time!
I have sold many of my handcrafted items online, at boutiques and in retail shops. I even taught painting classes for several years. When I listed my 1st original for sale on Etsy, I had been painting pieces for myself, friends and family and everyone was having a great response and I was having a BLAST! Selling art felt very different than any of those other adventures... This felt "real" and much more scary. I guess selling my paintings feels "bigger" because they are so close to my heart.
I was creating my "Littlest Witch Series" and I listed "Little Red" one evening in my brand new Etsy shop, ALICIAARTSHOP.
I didn't tell anyone that I had just listed a painting for sale! Throughout the night I had many thoughts going through my head... "What was I thinking? What if Little Red wasn't even good enough?" on and on and on .... Late (really late) that evening, I decided to take the listing on etsy down until I was an "ARTIST."
The next morning, I woke up ready to take her down quickly (before I admitted to anyone what I had done). Oh happy day, she had SOLD! I can't even relate how much that 1st sale meant to me. I LOVE all of my customers and appreciate each and every sale, but this 1st one ... the one where my inner critic was really LOUD... pushed me forward in the right direction!
